  Nice Guys Vs. Jerks.

  i'll tell you guys something, being nice doesn't get you anywhere in this world.

  being nice gets your heart broken, gets you walked all over, and taken advantage of.

  whenever someone sees you as a nice guy, they'll see you as a person they can take advantage of, and you'll let them because you're nice..

  Actually, I prefer the nicest, sweetest, sexiest most intellegent charming man I've ever met; Sweet Vampyre. I am so glad I married him!

  Smoker or Non Smoker?

  do you smoke?.

  would you live with a smoker, if you are non smoker?

  i wouldn't be able to smell cigarette smoke at home nor in my car.

  I am a NON smoker. In the past I lived with smokers.. everything stinks! peee-ewww! I will never live that way again. Now that I have lived with mt asthmatic Sweet Vampyre and my asthmatic son, I have no tolerance for smoking around me. Sweet Vampyre's son is 11 months old and asthma free.. Much to my father in law's shock. He was sure the kid would carry on the family tradition of severe asthma... but the whole family smokes like chimineys... well, the few left alive still smoke, the other's died of it. My Vampyre had both parents smoking at the time he was concieved, his mom quit when she was pregnant but the dad was still smoking around her. My Vampyre grew up in a cloud of smoke... despite his asthma and the doctor's warnings. Our little Tristan has never inhaled any smoke and I hope he never will. I am a huge pain in the butt to anyone who tris to light up arpund my kids. I can't appologize for that. Their health is at stake. I know a few smokers and I hope for their own sake's and their kid's that they will quit... soon. ~Witch

  yes, African, those who express bitterness at their ill-treatment are better than those who hurt them. Those telling their stories here have a right to be angry and to express it. The elders were in positions of power and they used it to ABUSE. If we are bitter and express it, we abuse no one,. ~Witch

  Kingdom Hall Spankings

  most meetings i went to, children were brought to the washrooms in the back to be disciplined.

  often i could hear a child yell or cry due to the spanking given by the parent.

  people in the hall would have that look on their face meaning that it was alright to discipline a child by spanking him.

  I was really against spankings. I always let my baby have toys etc. I spent most meetings in the ladies room nursing him.
  
  Of course I was severely critisized for not spanking... It was endless! Finally, one meeting I took their advice. Every time my boy made too much noise or tried to leave his seat I took him in the back and swatted his butt. Halfway through the meeting I was in tears. I looked at my little guy and hugged him and said no more. I pleaded a bad migraine and we went home. I attended very rarely after that. And never let my then husband take the baby by himself.
  
  Now that the poor kid is diagnosed as autistic... and unable to sit still or stay focused for more than 15 minutes... I feel even worse about that day.

  ouch. yeah. this is the sad reality. So hard to leave the cult and admit you were wrong... that pride... that fear. I'm so glad to be out and be able to say I "only" wasted 6 years in the cult. 6 years I could have spent more time with my Great Gramma and my friend Lynne who both died within a few years of my getting out. ~Witch

  Center Parc Meeting Point Condemned by JWs Elders....

  well maybe many in the us have not had the pleasure of the center parcs.

  vacations.

  sub tropical, scantily clad people.. but here in the uk and europe... we know all about them,...... especially if you are a jw.... once a year, in fact the week just before xmas, the jws descend in hordes on the different center park locations dotted around the uk - eg - sherwood and elvedon.. well if you want to see jws have a good time, book now!

  help me please... i just got diane wilson's book awakening of a jehovah's witness and i can't put the damn thing down.

  i'm reading while i eat while i'm in bed while i'm at work in the bathroom!!

  Theft of Identity from the Borg

  i had a thought for most of the ex-jws who spent most of their lives in the borg.

  for those who left the borg, has anyone stopped and think, "who am i really supposed to be apart from the borg?".

  have you ever wondered what your life would have been like if you had never been a jw?

  I lost a lot to the borg...
  
  but my identity was only squashed flat, folded and put away. I took it out, shook the dust off and was me again in a fairly short time.
  
  I lost several years of good times with so many excellent people... including my friend Lynne who died way too soon after I came to my senses... :(
